TO THE TEACHER
Pre-school children are not too young to learn how to have a good
relationship with God. It is so important for them to learn Bible stories,
Bible principles, and that God is their Heavenly Father! Don’t be afraid
as a pre-school teacher to train young children in the way that they
should go.
I want to share with you the three areas
that will help your pre-schoolers grow closer to God. These areas should
be taught gradually, over a period of time, so that when they get to
kindergarten, they will have a good understanding of these three important
truths. This curriculum has been developed around these truths, and when
completed, each child should have a well-balanced knowledge of and a
closer relationship with God!
TRIMESTER I
--
FRIENDS WITH GOD
Our relationship with God is because of
Jesus. Believing in Him and confessing Jesus as Lord gives us the right to
come before God as His children.
TRIMESTER II
--
GOD’S WORD
IS TRUTH
Pre-schoolers must understand the
difference between what is real and what is pretend. This needs to be
taught at an early age. Pretending is fine as long as they know they are
pretending. God’s Word is true. It is never pretend. Daniel really was in
the lion’s den, and David really did kill Goliath. God is always with us,
and He loves us very much. He is a good God!
TRIMESTER III --
OBEDIENCE AND FORGIVENESS
Teach pre-schoolers to run to God, not from
God, when they sin. They need to understand this from the moment they are
born-again. I John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sin, He is faithful and
just to forgive our sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” God
always loves us, but He never approves of sin.
Enjoy this special time of training
children in the principles of God’s Word, and may your joy be made full by
the results you see in their lives!
In Christ,
