laying a
basic foundation in these children. Be sure to share the Bible story
before the outline.
OUTLINES:
Study these
outlines, and know what you want to share with the children. Keep in
mind the central truth and Bible story and how they relate to each other.
These outlines explain the basic principles the pre-schoolers will be
applying to their lives every day. Each principle will help them make
godly decisions. Keep in mind you are dealing with short attention
spans, so dont drag it out too long. And dont be concerned when
pre-schoolers dont listen as attentively as adults. They are pre-schoolers!
Be sure to tell the story first, and then present the outline principles.
PUPPET SKITS:
Enclosed with your curriculum package is a bear puppet whose name is
Gladly. With each lesson there is a puppet skit with conversation between
Gladly and the teacher. This conversation will reinforce the Bible story
and outline that you have already taught that day. This is to be a fun
time for the pre-schoolers, and you should allow them to participate by
talking to Gladly the
Bear
if they want to. Gladly could occassionally lead them in prayer or a
song. Whatever you do, make it fun, and remind them of the central
truth.
SUPPLEMENTARY BOOKS:
Enclosed with this curriculum are three children's books which teach
basic Bible principles. It is noted on the lessons where each of the
books would be

particularly helpful, and we strongly advise that you use that particular
book with that lesson. For instance during the first lesson, "God Is Not
Too Busy," you should definitely read the book, God Is Never 7bo Busy 1bo
Listen. You might want to use this book consecutively for four weeks
because of the subject matter, or you may want to alternate it with other
books. Find what works best for you, but remember, the children learn by
repetition.
REVIEW QUESTIONS:
At the end of each lesson outline are
three questions that you can ask your pre-schoolers. You may want to take
the time to ask each child individually or you may just ask the children
as a group. These questions will help you see if the children understood
and learned the central truth. Remember to make it fun!
VISUAL AIDS:
Use visuals! Kids remember more of
what they see than what they hear. Reinforce the words you speak with
things they can see. Flannel graph characters for the Bible stories are
supplied. You'll find sufficient scenery and characters to present every
Bible story. Because the Bible story is the same for four or five weeks
you will use the same characters each week, but more details are added for
each lesson.
